Keystone AEA's main office is located in Elkader with nine Sector/Field offices in Northeast Iowa (Decorah, Waukon, New Hampton, West Union, Elkader, Farley, Delhi, Oelwein, and Dubuque). Keystone AEA has the following vacancies for the 2008–2009 year:

Occupational Therapist - Requires a minimum of a BA Degree in occupational therapy, a license as an occupational therapist by the State of Iowa Department of Public Health, and a letter of professional recognition as an occupational therapist by the IA Department of Education. Special Education Consultant - The special education consultant is responsible for developing and/or providing: curriculum materials, methodology, related instruction, special education class rosters, leadership in the coordination of resources in the implementation of new trends, rules’ compliance, and screening/early identification of children requiring special education services; contributing to other evaluations and diagnostic and educational team staffings, and facilitating the development of pre-referral activities such as intervention plans, Teacher Assistance Teams, and general education strategist activities.

Qualifications include but are not limited to a Master’s degree in special education or a Master’s in another area of education plus an endorsement in at least one special education instructional area and ability to meet requirements of special education teaching endorsement for consultation authorization. Successful candidate will have four years of teaching experience, two of which must be in special education. Ability and interest in providing internal and external professional development will be a consideration.

School Improvement Facilitator-Career/Technical Education - This full-time position requires a Master's Degree or equivalent experience in an area related to career/technical education and appropriate Iowa teacher’s license and endorsements. A minimum of five years classroom teaching experience is preferred. Special considerations will be given to individuals with experience in an additional discipline, such as social studies, science, math, etc.

The School Improvement Facilitator – Career/Technical Education is responsible for leadership, organization, and coordination in developing, implementing, and evaluating services in regards to career and technical issues for local school districts and for Keystone Area Education Agency personnel.

Additional responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, consultation in the area of twenty-first century skills, assisting with implementation of Iowa Core Curriculum, and providing support to Schools In Need of Assistance.

Position will be contracted for 190 days out of either the Dubuque or Elkader office. Speech-Language Pathologists - Applicants must possess a Masters degree in speech-language pathology along with endorsement by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners as a speech-language pathologist or licensure as a speech-language pathologist by the Iowa Department of Health and a statement of professional recognition from the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners. School Audiologist - The school audiologist is responsible for providing school audiology activities, strategies, and interventions within the parameters of the eight performance standards and related criteria adopted by the Keystone Area Education Agency Board of Directors.

Position requires a Master’s degree in audiology along with endorsement by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners as an school audiologist or licensure as an audiologist by the Iowa Department of Health and a statement of professional recognition from the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners.
